July 10, 2017, there was a meeting of the Rector of South Ukrainian national pedagogical university named after K. D. Ushynsky, Academician O. Ya. Chebykin, with the US military attaché Sean Stevens.

At the meeting, the Rector spoke about the specifics of the University's activities and cooperation with the US Embassy in Ukraine, as well as various universities in America. The attaché offered the university a humanitarian aid. At the meeting, mechanisms for its receipt were announced. In addition, the sides discussed the possibility of holding sports competitions on tennis and fighting between youth teams of Ushynsky University and the USA on July 17, 2017.
