History of Organization

The history of the University goes back to the Pedagogical Institute which was founded on the 2nd of May in 1817. Nowadays it is one of the leading pedagogical educational establishments in the South of Ukraine. Our scientific researchers work on the perspective pedagogical technologies, basing on the world tendencies of the education development and achievements in the fields of Pedagogy, Psychology, History, Philosophy and natural Sciences. The University has long-standing traditions, significant experience in training high qualified specialists and acknowledged international reputation. It was the 1st Pedagogical Ukrainian University accepted to Association of European Universities (CRE). Today it is a member of East-European University Network (EEUN). PNPU is a member of the International Assotiation of Universities (IAU) from 2008.  Our educational establishment cooperates with different Universities of Europe, Asia and the USA.

The University obtained the highest level of accreditation (the 4th), the license AB № 482359 of 10.09.2009.

Almost 100.000 professionals graduated from our University, more than 2000 of them have become honoured persons of education. The students, post-graduate students and those who work for Ph. D. have an opportunity to improve their qualification in different Universities in Europe, Asia and the USA.

The University education is based on  the international and national standards. A university graduate is distinguished by broad worldview, creative cognition, a capability to organize and inspire the educational process. He is a good theorist and at the same time practical innovation technologies worker. About 7000 students, including post-graduates and those who work for Ph. D., study at our University.

The University staff consists of more than 1000 specialists, among whom there are many  experienced teachers – 17 academics, 52 professors, about 249 associate professors.

The university provides knowledge in 40 specialties and specializations in different institutes and faculties, giving an opportunity to get Bachelor, Specialist, Master degree as well as Ph. D. degree.
