May 17-21, the student of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after          K. D. Ushynsky, Odesa, Denys Artyomchuk (52 kg) at the European Championship in Athens from combat sambo won the second place, receiving a silver medal.

May 17-18, 2018, the team of students of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky took the 2 nd command position at the All-Ukrainian Olympiad in "Sociology", which took place in Odesa. Tetyana Gnidyuk (the scientific leader - doctor of sociological sciences, professor Liseenko O.V.) took the II place in the 2nd round at the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Sociology, the student of the magistracy in Social and Humanitarian Faculty.
The winners were awarded diplomas and received valuable gifts from the organizers, including the textbook "Political Science in Ukraine" and the monograph "The Mental Dimension of Ukrainian Civilization".

Students Tetyana Gnidyuk (Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities), Liliya Terekhova (Faculty of Elementary Education), Natalia Oloer (Faculty of Philology), under the scientific supervision of Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor O. Petinova, competed with representatives of 26 universities in knowledge of the theory and history of sociological science, in the ability to develop methodological and methodological principles of sociological research on the chosen theme.

In order to attract students to the museum culture at the Faculty of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky during May, educational excursions to the Odessa literary museum were organized. The innovative component of the new form of educational process was the musical accompaniment of the process of knowledge of high art - listening to classical works by J.S. Bach, A. Scriabin,   S. Rachmaninov, and others. Special interest of students and trainers was caused by the winners of international competitions A. Stepanova and V. Volkonsky (saxophone).

May 17, 2018, the International Ethnopestium "Peace-Friendship" was held at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky. The festival was organized by the ABE Foundation and held within the framework of the Week of Good Things. The festive event was attended by creative collectives of the city and the region: choir "Polish Kvit", ensemble "Kaleidoskop" (Ovidiopil), the choreographic team "Orhestra" (Ushynsky University, director N. Lisovska) and many others.

May 4-6, 2018, in the city of Lviv, at the Palace of Culture named after Hnat Khotkevych, the International Festival of Arts "Star Gramophone Talents 2018" was held.

Within the framework of celebrating the Day of Science at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky, a series of events was conducted aimed at spreading modern scientific ideas and approaches among students.
In particular, on May 16, 2018 Professor of the Department of Higher Mathematics and Statistics, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Pivovarchyk Vyacheslav Nikolaevich gave an open lecture on "Spectral theory of graphs: standard and non-standard".
May 17, 2018, a lecture on "General Secondary Education: Past, Present, Future" was held by Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor Ordanovska Olexandra Igorivna. The event was attended by faculty students.

May 22, at the Faculty of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology, an exhibition of scientific works of the Faculty staff for students and teachers was held.
At the exhibition, the collections of articles in scientific periodicals, indexed by Web of Science and Copernicus, monographs, textbooks, teaching aids of trainers of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Preschool Education, the Chair of Family and Special Pedagogy and Psychology, and the Chair of Preschool Pedagogy were presented. The congratulatory speech was made by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, full member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, laureate of the State Prize in Education A.M. Bogush and Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, the Dean of the Faculty of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology T.G. Zharovtseva.
