September 8, 2018, in the City Garden of Odessa, the Educational and Cultural Center "Confucius Institute" celebrated the "Global Confucius Institutes Day" for the fifth time, which has been attended by students and teachers of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky, teachers and students of leading educational institutions, representatives of the Chinese diaspora, the media, as well as Chinese language learners, guests and residents of South Palmyra.

Honorary guests at the festival, hosted by Ushynsky University, were: Vice-Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Odessa, Ms. Chen Yuyuzun, Consul of China's Culture and Education, Ms. Yu Zhouulin, Director of the Department of International Affairs of the Odessa City Council, Svetlana Boyeva, Heads of the "Confucius Institute" branches and others.

Guests and residents of Odessa also had the opportunity to take part in the master class of hieroglyphics, enjoy writing their own name in Chinese, learn the wisdom of Chinese philosophy from Confucius and take a picture of him in memory.
