October 3-5, 2018, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Higher Education in Modern Digital Space: Challenges and Prospects" was held at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky. The conference has been held jointly with Ariel University (Arriel, Israel) on the basis of the Educational Center for Information, Education and Culture of the State of Israel at the University with the support of the Israeli Cultural Center (Odessa). More than 30 scholars from Ukraine, Israel, Poland and Spain have taken part at the conference.

October 4, 2018 the solemn events for a professional holiday - the Day of Ukrainian Education Workers took place at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky. After the congratulations of the university leadership of the lecturers and students, the presenters have had an opportunity to see the festive concert prepared by the student club together with the representatives of the faculties and institutes who demonstrated their creative abilities.

October 3, 2018, on the basis of the Educational Center for Culture, Information and Science of the State of Israel at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after                K. D. Ushynsky, an open lecture on "Israeli Democracy: the Non-trivial Success of the Israeli Society and its Perspective on future" has been delivered by Olexander Jakobson, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of Jewish University. The well-known Israeli scientist has been presented by the First Secretary of the State of Israel Embassy in Ukraine, Mrs. Ilona Khilkovska. The lecture has been attended by the students of the Faculty of social sciences and humanities, who showed a great interest in the topic of open class.

October 3, 2018 Within the framework of preparation for the international action "16 Days Against Violence" at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky, an open lecture for students on "Safe employment and tourism abroad" was held. The speaker of the event was the teacher-organizer of the department for humanitarian affairs of the Kramatorsk City Council Matskiv Veronika Valeriivna.

September 8, 2018, in the City Garden of Odessa, the Educational and Cultural Center "Confucius Institute" celebrated the "Global Confucius Institutes Day" for the fifth time, which has been attended by students and teachers of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky, teachers and students of leading educational institutions, representatives of the Chinese diaspora, the media, as well as Chinese language learners, guests and residents of South Palmyra.

In the framework of celebrating the week of physical culture and sports, the students of Ushynsky University has taken part in dance flash mobs, chess competitions, checkers, table tennis and mini-football. The sports competitions have been organized by the Department of Physical Education of the Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Rehabilitation of Ushynsky University.
