March 15, 2016 during the visit to Odessa China’s Diplomatic corps led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Zhang Xiyun visited South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky.

Also there were present First Secretary of the Embassy of China in Ukraine Ms. Liu Wei, Third Secretary of the Embassy of China in Ukraine Mr. Zhang Zhen Guo, Attaché Mr. Wu Xiao Jie, Consul General of China in Odesasa Mr. Cao Yunlong, Consul for Culture and Education of China, Ms. Sun Yanvey. The Ukrainian side was represented by the Rector of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky O.Chebykin, Pro-rectors A. Ananiev and T. Koycheva, Head of International Relations S. Skorokhod, chief accountant R.Kondratyeva and the coordinators of a university international project "Educational and cultural center of China "The Confucius Institute "A. Popova and Ding Xin. Two sides exchanged views on the development of Ukraine-China relations in the field of education, prospects of joint international educational, cultural and scientific projects, academic mobility of students and teachers and so on. Both sides stressed that the university is now the leading center in the south of Ukraine in the field of Chinese language training where every year 13 Chinese teachers work.

 The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Ukraine Mr. Zhang Xiyun noted the high level of Chinese language proficiency of students and shared with the audience his impressions of the meeting; promised to encourage language practice for students in universities of China.
