On April 25, 2025, the Department of World History and Methods of Its Teaching of the Faculty of History and Philology organized and held the All-Ukrainian Scientific Conference of Higher Education Students and Young Scientists “Historical Science in Conditions of War through the Eyes of Higher Education Students and Young Scientists”. The scientific event was held in an online format on the Zoom platform. This format of the conference allowed to attract a large number of young scientists from various HEIs of Ukraine, in particular, the most active participants in the discussion of the reports were the students of the Luhansk National University named after Taras Shevchenko. The moderator of the conference was Dr. Philological Sciences, Professor of the Department of World History and Methods of Its Teaching Okorokova V. V.
The conference participants were welcomed by Dr. Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of History of Ukraine, Rector of Ushynsky University A. V. Krasnozhon. In his speech, the Rector noted the importance of such events for the cultural and scientific development of students in today's conditions and wished the conference success and the establishment of a new tradition within the walls of our University. The conference participants heard the Rector's report on the fate of scientists and scientific institutions in wartime.
The beginning of the conference was also welcomed by a special guest, a leading local historian of the Ukrainian Luhansk region and a specialist in international relations, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of History and Archaeology of the state institution "Luhansk National University named after Taras Shevchenko" O. V. Nabok. The scientist shared his scientific and teaching experience in the conditions of Russian aggression in 2014 and 2022. The speaker thanked for organizing and holding the conference, dedicated to such a sensitive and relevant topic for all of us.
