On November 8, 2025, the Ivan Franko Central City Library successfully hosted a performance by the students and postgraduates of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Musical and Performing Arts and Socio-Cultural Practices of Ushynsky University. The concert “Autumn Rhapsody” was prepared by students of all educational levels within the framework of the work of the Laboratory “Contemporary Art Studios”. One of the functions of the laboratory is to create conditions for creative development and stimulate creative self-realization of the students by involving them in active concert activities and working out credits for independent work.
The concert program was rich and diverse - from classical arias to spectacular instrumental fantasies. The audience warmly welcomed the performances of first (bachelor) level students Victoria Martyniuk and Anton Kolodiy (class of teacher Tolstova N. M.), who impressed with the depth of their performance of arias by G. Handel and W. Mozart. The second (master's) level students He Mingzhao and Lui Jiaming (class of prof. Shpak H. K.) performed Ukrainian songs that touched the audience with their sincerity and emotionality, creating a special cultural bridge between the East and the West. The high level of performing skills was demonstrated by the master's students Hu Yi and Yu Qijia (class of prof. Gorozhankina O. Yu.). Their exquisite performance of works by F. Chopin, as well as the spectacular final piano duet, were distinguished by technical perfection and deep artistry. Thanks to this, the audience expressed its support with loud ovations, calling the performers for an encore.
The real culmination of the concert was the appearance on stage of our graduate students, who once again proved their high professional level and ability to integrate different musical traditions. Saxophonist Zhou Taiyu (in duets accompanied by Hu Yi and Yu Qijia) and vocalist Liu Zhiguo (piano part – Yu Qijia) enchanted the audience with their sensual and skillful performance of Chinese works. These performances vividly demonstrated the virtuoso technique, performing culture and mature ensemble skills of our graduates.
The concert “Autumn Rhapsody” became a clear confirmation of the successful creative self-realization of the institute’s graduates, which testifies to the high level of professional training and their ability for intercultural artistic dialogue on the international stage.
We thank Associate Professor O.Yu. Gorozhankin for organizing the charity event, which was held in the library for the second time.
