On February 5, 2026, a meeting of the Specialized Academic Board D 41.053.01 was held at Ushynsky University, during which the public defense of the dissertation of Oksana Ivanivna Chekan on the topic “Theoretical and methodological principles of the development of coherent speech of older preschool children with autism spectrum disorders by means of digitalization” was held for the degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences in specialties 13.00.02 - Theory and Methods of Teaching (Ukrainian Language) and 13.00.03 - Correctional Pedagogy.

She demonstrated a high level of scientific erudition, depth of theoretical understanding of the problem and thoroughness of methodological approaches. Members of the Specialized Academic Council and opponents noted the systematic nature of the scientific research, its scientific novelty, practical significance, logicality and persuasiveness of the presentation of the material, and the validity of the conclusions and recommendations. Following the discussion, the specialized academic council unanimously decided to award Oksana Chekan the degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences.
