An open lecture on the discipline "Inclusion in Physical Education"

On March 11, 2026, an open lecture was held for higher education students of the 3rd year of study majoring in Secondary Education (Physical Education) within the discipline "Inclusion in Physical Education" on the topic: "Development of Physical Culture and Sports among Persons with Disabilities".

The lecturers were:

Shchekotylina Natalia Fedorivna - Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor at the Department of Gymnastics and Physical Culture and Sports Technologies.

Gavrushenko Galyna Ivanivna - Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional Center for Physical Culture and Sports for Persons with Disabilities "Invasport";

Samarina Natalia Dmytrivna - Chief Specialist, Sign Language Interpreter.

During the lesson, key issues were highlighted:

involving children with special educational needs in regular sports activities;

creating a barrier-free environment in various sports (space, equipment, accessibility of procedures and rules);

the role of teachers and coaches in designing the educational and training process taking into account individual needs;

the integration potential of sports and opportunities for full social participation of athletes with disabilities.

Special attention is paid to examples of successful experience of athletes from Odesa region - medalists of the Olympic/Paralympic Games and international tournaments, which serve as motivational guidelines for student youth.
