A guest lecture by Professor I. P. Vozny

On March 18, a Guest Lecture was held by Ihor Petrovych Vozny, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Philosophy and Culturology of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, Guarantor of the EPP "Culturology" (second, master's level). The topic of the lecture was "Semiotics of Syncretic Beliefs of the Ancient Slavs: Cultural Connection with Modernity". The lecture was attended by students of the EPP "Management of Socio-Cultural Activities" 1-4 years, higher education students of the second (master's) level of the ESP "Philosophy of Business and Socio-Cultural Practices", postgraduate students 1-3 years of the ESP "Philosophy".

The Guest Lecture was organized by the Department of Philosophical and Sociological Studies and Socio-Cultural Practices.

It was noted that the ancient Slavs practiced paganism, which covered the entire sphere of spiritual culture and a significant part of production, hunting and gathering activities. Professor Vozny noted the close connection of ancient beliefs, amulets with modern traditions of Ukrainians. The guarantor of the ESP "Philosophy of Business and Sociocultural Practices" Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Yevhen Borinshtein noted the significance of the connection of the past and the future for modern Ukrainian society, noting the continuity of generations. He emphasized that it is among Ukrainians that continuity is fully represented, giving examples of the names of the months among the ancient Slavs and in modern Ukraine being practically identical. Higher education students listened to Ihor Vozny with interest and asked questions. The representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora in Germany (Yaryna Sonyachna), the Genocide Museum "Territory of Memory", and  Odesa Polytechnic National University joined the meeting.
