A presentation of the textbook "Digital Hygiene of Preschool Children"

On March 19, 2026, the presentation of the textbook “Digital Hygiene of Preschool Children” was held at Ushynsky University, dedicated to the current issues of forming safe behavior of children in the digital environment.

The relevance of the issues raised is due to the rapid digitalization of society and the growing influence of digital technologies on the development of the child. In this context, an important step was the approval of the Concept “Digital Hygiene of Preschool Children”, approved by the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated May 2, 2025 No. 432-р. The document defines the strategic guidelines of the state policy on creating a safe digital environment for preschool children, outlines the key problems, goals and expected results of the implementation of digital technologies without harm to the health and harmonious development of the child.

The author team of the publication is represented by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Oleksiy Anatoliyovych Lystopad, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Iryna Kostyantynivna Mardarova, Doctor of Philosophy Natalia Mykolayivna Gudanych, and Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Natalia Leonidivna Lystopad. In their speeches, the authors focused on the growing role of digital hygiene in the context of the digitalization of society and the need for early formation of children's skills for the safe use of digital technologies.

During the presentation, the content and structure of the textbook were revealed, which covers theoretical and practical aspects of the formation of digital culture in children aged 3–6. Special attention was paid to the age-related characteristics of children's interaction with digital devices, the analysis of potential risks of the digital environment, as well as the definition of effective pedagogical strategies for their prevention both in preschool institutions and in family education.

The publication contains a set of practical materials - recommendations, didactic games, exercises and examples of organizing cooperation between teachers and parents, aimed at preserving the physical and psycho-emotional health of the child and forming responsible digital behavior.

The participants of the event noted the relevance of the presented manual, its practical value and significance for the training of future specialists in the specialty A2 Preschool Education, as well as for improving the professional competence of teachers and the pedagogical culture of parents.

The presentation became an important platform for discussing the modern challenges of the digitalization of preschool education and outlining the prospects for further scientific and methodological developments in this direction.
