Exhibition of Mykola Gogol’s book "The Adventures of Chychykov or Dead Souls"

April 5, 2019, an exhibition of Mykola Gogol's book "The Adventures of Chychykov or Dead Souls" by A. Marx's Publishing House was held at the library of Ushynsky University. The event was timed to the 210th anniversary of the birth of the writer.

The publication of M. Gogol "The Adventures of Chychykov or Dead Souls" is interesting for many specialists from different fields. That is why the participants of the exhibition were lecturers and students of different faculties and institutes of the University. The discussion was attended by lecturers of the Faculty of Philology, the Subfaculty of History and Philosophy and library specialists. So, Tatiana Goranska, senior lecturer at the Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Literature - has revealed the question of depicting the degradation of the Russian nobility in the poem of M. Gogol. Historical information about serfdom has been given by Associate Professor of the Department of History of Ukraine Tatiana Sharova. The library's specialists has told the history of Adolph Marx's publishing house, provided information on the availability of M. Gogol's books in the library of Ushynsky University. The guests have learned about the features of the artistic design of M. Gogol's book "The Adventures of Chychykov or Dead Souls" by A. Marx Publishers.

All present have been immersed in the atmosphere of the poem by M. Gogol and had an opportunity to get acquainted with the unique publications.
