April 4, 2016 the University was visited by a delegation of the US Embassy in Ukraine, including: Educational Attaché Katherine Hellok, Representative of the Media, Education and Culture Lilya Shylo, Head of international non-governmental organization «Project Harmony, Inc.» Andrew Haidamashko.
VII Ukrainian International music competition dedicated to the memory M.I. Spozito was held on the 3d of April in the white hall of the Vorontsov Palace in Odessa.
April 1-3, 2016 Festival-Contest "Odessa meets friends" took place in Odessa and brought victory to the students of the Faculty of Music and Choreography in the nomination "Academic singing".
March 7-18, 2016 in Turkey there will be the first international qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games. The national team of Ukraine in boxing is making every effort to acquire the necessary physical condition for successful performance in these important events.
March 22-24, 2016 Odessa Regional Branch of the Committee of Physical Education and Sports, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Federation of sailing of Ukraine in the Odessa region, State Institution "South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky" in the pool of National University "Odessa Maritime Academy" within XXIV regional student games held a championship among higher education institutions in swimming. The competition was attended by swimming teams of higher educational institutions of Odessa III-IV of level of accreditation.
The team of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky took the first place with 1556 scores. Our sportsmen took 15 – first, 11 - second, 7 - third places.
March 22-24, 2016 Chornomorsk (Illichivsk) The students of musical education and choreography won prizes in the Festival. In the nomination "Academic vocal" the winners of the II-d degree are Nadia Goryacheva (class of senior teacher T.G. Shafarchuk), Ilona Shostak (class of teacher G.P.Chemenyan) and Lee Lychuan (class of acting assistant professor A.T.Roytenko). In the category "Instrumental genre (piano)" Olexiy Vapnyar won the third prize (class of associate professor A.Yu.Horozhankina).

DNIPROPETROVSK March 17-20, 2016 the Palace of Aquatics "Meteor" hosted the national swimming championship of Ukraine and the Ukrainian youth swimming championship. Athletes from across the country competed for awards in 10 disciplines. Odessa region was represented by the students of SUNPU after K.D.Ushynsky: Darya Tkachenko, Valeria Yeroshkina, Andriy Yermakov, Volodymyr Onishchenko, Ivan Strilets.
1st place, distance of 200 meters, brass - Ivan Strilets.
2nd place, distance of 100 meters, brass - Ivan Strilets
2nd place, relay race 4×100 – Odessa region team, Darya Tkachenko, Valeria Yeroshkina in particular.
