South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky uses the StrikePlagiarism System, which is available through the user interface on the Internet at Strikeplagiarism.com, to carry out technical checks of academic texts for textual borrowings (academic plagiarism).

It should be noted that the algorithm StrikePlagiarism.com seeks borrowing from various sources:

- the global Internet (indexing more than 10 billion sites);

- databases collected within the framework of the interuniversity database exchange program, repositories of Ukrainian universities are also closed;

- database which includes scientific journals indexed in SCOPUS, EBSCO, SPRINGER, etc.

In addition, the system StrikePlagiarism recognizes the nature of the connection of sentences in the text, the composition of text and words separately, thus the system finds not only the facts of substitution of words, but also the replacement of words by synonyms, which largely allows to find similarity in content technical verification of the text.
