STUDY VISITS OF students
vocational teacher education in germany: Strengths AND WEAKNESSES
(24.04.2022-07.05.2022, including arrival and departure,
University of Konstanz)
Target group: students of the Ukrainian partner-HEIs who are enrolled on the daytime department and have intentions to pursue a career as a vocational teacher
Goal: to introduce the students to the practical experience of the University of Konstanz on the implementation of effective cooperation in vocational teacher training what concerns teaching and research.
Number of students: 2
Duration: 14 days, including arrival and departure
Expected outcomes: students
- acquire the necessary knowledge on the functioning of cooperation in vocational teacher training what concerns teaching and research of the University of Konstanz;
- contribute to the establishing of partnership-governance at the respective HEI (details defined by the respective project team) (e. g. by sharing the experience of having school practice with younger peers; disseminating the gained knowledge etc.);
- can provide students’ perspective on the necessary improvement in vocational teacher training system at the home university;
- can apply gained knowledge and experience in the studies.
Requirements for participation:
- be a student at the daytime department of the Ukrainian partner-HEI in the specialisation “Vocational Education. Specialisation”;
- finish at least two semesters in the specialisation “Vocational Education. Specialisation”;
- be motivated to contribute to the improving vocational teacher training at your university;
- be ready to act as a “field agent” and cooperate with the project team on providing the students’ perspective of vocational teacher education;
- have the German language proficiency at least B2 level;
- meet the entry requirements for Germany.
The respective project team depending on the situation at the HEI may apply additional criteria.
Tasks upon the completion of the study visit: write a report on your experience of the study visit; present or disseminate your experience to your peers during a workshop, conference, chair meeting etc.; contribute to the implementation of the partnership and cooperation mechanisms implemented at your university (as required by the project team at your university); apply the gained knowledge and experience in your studies.
The respective project team of the Ukrainian partner-HEI may add other tasks.
The organisation of the selection process is coordinated by the contact person of the respective HEI.
